About Bangalow Tennis Club

Bangalow has a new Head Coach

Professional tennis coach Jack Cox is the proud new owner of Northern Rivers Tennis Academy in Bangalow. He will work closely with the Bangalow Tennis Club to provide the Byron Shire community with friendly, inspiring, and accessible tennis programmes for all ages.
Along with his enthusiasm and skill, Jack brings a connection to the community and tennis scene with over 8 years of coaching experience: as a Senior Coach for the Northern Rivers Tennis Academy, across 2 clubs (Bangalow and Ballina), and as Head Coach at Byron Bay Tennis Club before that.
“I am beyond excited for this new chapter in my career, taking the reins at Northern Rivers Tennis Academy, Bangalow. It is an honour and privilege to be a part of developing the amazing junior talent in the area, as well as offering dynamic adult programmes, enhancing overall participation and enjoyment of the great game of tennis” says Jack.

“Jack is a fantastic tennis coach, and we look forward to partnering with him to build on the valuable community asset we already have while adding his style” adds Jeremy Burn, Club President.

Jack’s passion and love for tennis began when he was 8. He played elite-level junior tennis and was part of the national high-performance academy at the age of 14. At 17, Jack was considered one of the top juniors in the country, competing on the ITF Junior Circuit, and obtaining sponsorship from renowned tennis brand, Babolat.
In 2020 Jack received parliamentary recognition for his work in woman’s tennis, with his memorial tournament event honouring local legend and over 85’s world champion, Margaret Fisher.
As the new owner and director of the Northern Rivers Tennis Academy in Bangalow, Jack will continue to share his knowledge and passion with his clients. Incorporating his signature friendly and positive attitude into the culture and development of both the Academy and the Bangalow club.
